Independent medical expertise, specialist statements, and comprehensive appraisals for your health.
For complex conditions of the spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, we offer an independent neurosurgical second opinion.
Existing medical findings, MRI and CT scans, doctor and discharge letters, surgical reports, as well as previously conducted conservative, interventional, or operative treatments are thoroughly and carefully evaluated.
The goal is to transparently verify the existing diagnosis and proposed treatment. Wherever medically appropriate, viable conservative, pain-therapeutic, interventional, and operative treatment alternatives are discussed with you.
Your medical documents – such as MRI and CT scans, physician letters, operative reports, diagnostic findings, and medication schedules – contain sensitive personal health data and are treated with strict confidentiality.
Please avoid transmitting medical documents via unencrypted email or public web forms. Use our practice's secure channels or bring your records directly to your appointment. Consultations can be scheduled through our Doctolib booking system.
Furthermore, we provide specialist statements and expert medical appraisals in the fields of: Neurosurgery, neurosurgical pain therapy, and psychosomatic medicine / psychosomatic basic care.
Depending on the clinical questions, symptoms of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, chronic or recurrent pain syndromes, and psychosomatic correlations can be professionally evaluated.
A second opinion or expert evaluation aims to provide a medically comprehensible, independent, and evidence-based assessment.
Available diagnostic findings and therapeutic options are evaluated in the context of the individual clinical presentation and clearly explained. Our goal is to provide maximum clarity and confidence for your future medical decisions.
Costs depend on the specific medical questions, the required scope of service, and your insurance status.
Whether and to what extent the costs of a second opinion are covered by statutory or private health insurance should be clarified in advance with your health insurer.
Private medical consultations, examinations, and expert statements are billed – where applicable – in accordance with the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ). For extensive appraisals, scope and expected costs can be agreed upon individually beforehand.
Please provide us with your relevant medical records and existing imaging, particularly MRI or CT scans, via the transmission channels we have designated, or bring them to your appointment in person.
You schedule an appointment for a comprehensive specialist consultation. Depending on the medical question, the consultation can take place in person or – where medically and legally appropriate – via telemedicine.
Your existing findings, imaging, and previous treatments are carefully and independently assessed from a neurosurgical perspective. If necessary, we supplement this with a personal clinical-neurological or neurophysiological examination.
Afterwards, we discuss the findings with you in an understandable manner. Possible conservative, interventional, and surgical treatment options, as well as their main advantages and disadvantages, are explained.
